Microsoft is updating it spam rules

May, 2025

IMPORTANT

Following Google and Yahoo, Microsoft has announced in their blog that starting May 5th, they will begin enforcing new requirements for bulk and high-volume email senders targeting domains like Outlook.com, Hotmail, MSN, and Live.com.

These requirements are the same ones we previously shared when Google and Yahoo made similar changes.

The key point is to make sure your sending domains are properly authenticated with SPF and DKIM records otherwise, your messages will start being rejected by them with SMTP Reply :

550; 5.7.15 Access denied, sending domain [SendingDomain] doesn't meet the required authentication level.

To check your domain setup:

  • Go to your Universe name (at the top right) > Deliverability

  • Make sure your sending domains appears in the list and show green for both SPF and DKIM

  • If anything is marked red or your domain is missing, please reach out to us so we can help you set it up correctly.

This is just a reminder to ensure your setup is complete before Microsoft starts rejecting non-compliant emails.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.
