Frequently asked questions on Evergreen campaigns
Please find below all our answers to the most frequently asked questions on our Evergreen campaigns :
Can I schedule an Evergreen that runs indefinitely?
Yes, in our latest release, we enable Evergreens with no end date.
Can I schedule a daily Evergreen campaign ?
Yes, a daily schedule is possible. A campaign will be automatically planned for each day.
Possible schedules are: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly.
Note: it can only be every day. It cannot be set-up for every 2 or 3 days for instance — whereas that is possible for the other recurrences (week, month etc.). Customers who want to target specific business days and avoid Saturday and Sunday should refrain from using the daily schedule.
Also consider the audience volume that might be selected for a daily campaign. If it’s a very small volume, grouping these within a weekly campaign might be a better, simpler choice.
Usually, weekly is the option that fits best with Splio’s customers’ marketing strategies.
Can I switch between group and single campaign modes?
No, it is not possible to transition from a group to a single-campaign Evergreen. For instance, within a two-campaign group, a campaign cannot be paused or removed. Group Evergreens and single-campaign Evergreen operate in distinct modes and cannot be converted into one another.
Can I access campaign statistics only for Evergreen?
Yes, in the Campaigns Performance Dashboard using a tag filter. Note that Evergreen campaigns are not tagged by default.
Can I change the exported filename?
Yes, by renaming the campaign. The exported filename typically follows the campaign name, which can be found in the destination details within the Connection Hub. Renaming can be done directly at the Evergreen level or by editing the generated campaign in the campaign plan.
Can I create an Evergreen directly in the campaign creation flow?
No, start with a campaign or a campaign group, then use it to create the Evergreen.
What volume appears in the Evergreen in automatic mode?
It reflects the volume of the last created campaign and is only indicative. The optimal recommended volume - the inflexion point - will naturally fluctuate for each occurence depending on the algorithm’s updated results.
Can I verify or fine-tune the volume of my Evergreen ?
Yes, once the campaign has been created, it can be edited just like any regular campaign.
Can I modify the Evergreen’s details such as the offer ?
No the details such as the offer or Custom Audience Filter of the campaign cannot be modified. It can be renamed, but further modifications are not allowed. The Evergreen is a static one-time copy of the initial campaign.
How can I view past campaigns from an Evergreen ?
From the Evergreen, navigate to the initial campaign or the next scheduled one using the arrow icons. Within the campaign plan, you can access past campaign instances in your calendar by navigating week by week.
Processing and Exports
Can repeatability options work without automatic export?
No, the repeatability options are available only if automatic export is enabled. Manual exports do not currently integrate with the repeatability functionality.
What are the benefits of the advanced processing option ?
It provides more time for manual adjustment. This means you can make adjustments between the campaign creation and the actual day of the campaign and its export.
How does advanced processing — process X days in advance — work ?
Campaigns will be created and optimized in advanced.
For a group with campaignsplanned for different days, the processing will occur X days before the first planned campaign
If automatic export is set, it will still occur on the scheduled date, with no population re-computation.
When is my Evergreen campaign automatically exported?
The scheduled export time is between 2 AM to 8 AM Paris time.
Is this export time configurable?
No, it is not.
Why was my campaign not exported despite being set to “automatically export”?
The Evergreen was created from an initial campaign - this initial one must be exported manually. Subsequent campaigns will be automatically exported, as generated by the Evergreen.
Fatigue management with Evergreen
How do I manage the marketing pressure of my Evergreen ?
We recommend managing Evergreen marketing pressure as a “side track” — extra-pressure — in parallel with the regular campaign plan pressure. This approach simplifies operations and reduces manual effort.
Can I optimize an Evergreen with other campaigns?
As a general advise: we do not recommend it.
Case #1 - single campaign
For am Evergreen containing a single campaign, you can generate the campaign individually and then group and optimize it with other campaigns from the plan.
Note: make sure the campaign is not set for automatic export and does not have repeatability constraints. Re-optimizing within a group will act as a “reset”.
Case #2 - campaign group
For a group Evergreen, additional grouping is not possible. Groups cannot be combined with other groups.
Alternatively, you could ungroup the campaigns and then regroup them with potentially more campaigns from the plan. However, we strongly advise against this operation as it introduces manual processes that lead to complex, chained optimizations. Additionally, Evergreen repeatability constraints would no longer apply.
CAFs Processing & Export
Are CAFs re-computed when used in a campaign?
Yes, a campaign can include a CAF, which is re-computed during processing.
How can I ensure my daily Evergreen uses the latest purchase-related CAFs?
Any campaign workflow will recompute the CAF being used.
Are campaign volumes refreshed during an export?
No, the audience volume displayed on the campaign is the one that will be exported. The objective is that what you see is what you get, with no unexpected change.
Does the group “re-optimize” action recomputes the CAFs within the campaigns?
No, it only affects the “dispatch” operation between campaigns.
What time are CAF exports scheduled?
CAF exports are fixed at 6 PM Paris ****time (UTC+1).
Is this time configurable?
No it is not.
