Setting up your Drive to Store campaigns

As you can see from our CRM use case guide, Drive to Store campaigns are essential for retailers with both online and physical stores.

Some of your customers may shop online but rarely visit your store. We know that customers who shop both online and offline spend more and shop more frequently .

This guide will therefore help you create a Drive to Store block for your campaigns.

#1 - Find the best store to promote

Favorite store

First, you will need to have a favorite store defined for all your users.

Several scenarios are possible:

  • The user has already made a purchase in-store . In this case, the CDP will provide you with a favorite_store value that can be used.

  • The user has never purchased in-store . The CDP field will be empty, but in this case, we recommend directing the customer to your store locator.

#2 - Adding location information to your stores

To ensure you can provide the correct information to your customer about your store's location, you need to update certain information about your stores.

You will need to create a custom field for your stores.

In Splio Marketing Automation, go to Données > Champs > Magasins and add a new custom field to store the store's GPS coordinates. This field must be a text field to ensure the format works with Google.

For example, you can name it latitude and longitude .

Next, you will need to add this information to all your stores to ensure that the Drive to Store block displays the correct information.

#3 - Code Explanation

The goal now is to create a loop that will be available for all your future designs as " Shared Content ".

Splio offers the possibility to write code so that the user receives information about the correct store.

In this case, the code will do the following: if the contact has a favorite store, that store will be considered the store to go to; otherwise, fallback content to the store locator will be displayed.

Code to write

{% if contact.custom_fields['favorite_store'] != null and contact.custom_fields['favorite_store'] != '' %}
{% create_stores_list stores_list = contact.custom_fields['favorite_store'] %}
{% for store in stores_list %}
Image : {{ store.img_url }}
Horaires du magasins : {{ store.custom_fields['horaires'] }}
CTA : https://www.google.com/maps/dir/{{store.custom_fields['latitude'] }},{{ store.custom_fields['longitude'] }}
{% endfor %}
{% else %}
CTA : store locator
{% endif %}

Explanation
  1. If a favorite store is defined, Splio checks the information available about it.

  2. In the example above, the image and opening hours are searched for first.

  3. Next, a CTA including the latitude and longitude of the favorite store is created. If someone clicks on this link, the Google Maps page will appear with the destination of the favorite store already filled in .

  4. If the store information is empty, another CTA leading to the store locator can be created.

#4 - Create a reusable block

We now want to create a reusable block that will be available for our future designs.

Select the line and click the Enregistrer icon . Once your block is created, you will be able to add it to your new designs.

#5 The result

Once your campaign is created with the right CTA, users who click on it will be directed to a Google Maps page with the store's directions automatically filled in.

Our tips for your Drive to store campaigns

Insert content for a reason
  • You don't want your users to get used to this "Drive to store" block, so add it when it's linked to your content.

  • Think about What might entice your customers to visit the store: a promotion, a special event, a reward , and make it the focus of your CRM campaign.

  • Remember the limitations of the rules we've set: it's not geolocated, so don't be too assertive about it being the only store they should visit . You can also mention your store locator if you have one on your website.
